The Djibouti national anthem is creatively titled Djibouti. While French and Arabic are the official languages, the song is usually sung in Somali (although there are translations to these languages). The lyrics were written by Aden Emli, and the melody by Abdi Robleh. It was decided to be the national anthem in 1977, when Djibouti gained independance from France.

The Enlgish translation is:

Arise with strength; for we have raised our flag, 

The flag which has cost us dear 

With extremes of thirst and pain.

Our flag, whose colours are the everlasting green of the earth, 

The blue of the sky, and white, the colour of peace; 

And the centre the red star of blood.

Oh flag of ours, what a glorious sight!
